1985 — graduated from the second Moscow Order of Lenin State Medical Institute named after N.I. Pirogov with a specialization in pediatrics.
1987 — graduated from clinical residency in Pediatric Ophthalmology.
1989–1991 — worked as the head of the surgery unit at ‘Peter I’ Floating Eye Clinic in Cyprus.
Up to 1992 — worked as an ophthalmologist at the ‘Eye Microsurgery’ Interbranch Scientific and Technical Complex (ISTC ‘Eye Microsurgery’), Russia.
1992–1993 — worked as an ophthalmologic surgeon at Al-Ansi Ophthalmological Hospital (Sana, the Republic of Yemen).
1996 — defended Master's thesis on ‘Reconstructive surgery of anterior segment of the eye with a short anterior-posterior axis in patients with incipient angle-closure glaucoma.
Since 1997 — has been working as Medical Director of the Excimer`s group of Eye Clinics.
2000 — defended M.D.`s thesis on ‘Clinical-physiological and ophthalmic-ergonomic justification for the criteria of revival of functional state in visual analyzer.
Kirill B. Pershin is Board Certified, Highest Category of Ophthalmology. He is a multi-skilled ophthalmic surgeon who applies all methods of modern ophthalmic diagnostics. Kirill B. Pershin has performed over 50,000 eye surgeries, out of which over 5,000 he did abroad, including phacoemulsification with IOL implantation, glaucoma surgeries, retinal detachment repairs, vitreoretinal surgery, all types of refractive and excimer laser surgeries, keratoplasty, as well as ocular adnexal surgeries. Kirill B. Pershin is the author of more than 100 publications and 9 inventions. In 2003, the Russian Academy of Natural Sciences awarded Kirill B. Pershin a Medal of Honour of the Academy “For Practical Contribution to Strengthening of Public Health”.
In 2004, the panel of the Russian Academy of Natural Sciences awarded Kirill B. Pershin an order and a title of honour “The knight of Science and Art”.
Today, Kirill B. Pershin is one of the most active operating surgeons in Russia and in the world (he performs more than 5,000 phacoemulsifications and more than 1,000 excimer laser corrections with the LASIK techniques annually). In 2002, in Moscow, Dr Pershin was awarded the title of the Best Ophthalmic Surgeon of the Year during the international congress of ophthalmologists on refractive and cataract surgery.
