Dr. Yakovenko Svetlana

First Category of Ophthalmology.
In 1994, Dr Yakovenko graduated from the Lugansk State Medical University, with a specialization in pediatrics. Since 1997, after finishing her studies at the Chair of Eye Diseases of the RostGMU FPK PPS, she has been working as a pediatric ophthalmologist since 1997.
Every year, Dr Yakovenko upgrades her professional level participating in Russian and international ophthalmologic conferences. She undertook advanced medical training courses in pediatric ophthalmology and has the relevant certificates for the following programs: a course at the Chair of Eye Diseases of the RostGMU FPK PPS (1998, 1999, 2000, 2001); a course on contact correction at the Russian State University of Medicine, the course on pediatric ophthalmology with (Moscow, 2000); a course on “Refractive and oculomotor pathologies in children and adults, congenital and evoked eye diseases in children”at the NII named after Helmholtz, (Moscow, 2003, 2004).
Dr Yakovenko is an expert in machine- and computer-based eye pathology diagnostics and applies the latest medical achievements in her work. Her practice deals with congenital cataract, strabismus, nystagmus and refractive errors. She is a member of Rostov Region Society of Ophthalmologists, and currently performs a lot of research.
She defended her Ph.D. thesis on “Pathophysiological mechanisms of degradation of visual functions and the possibilities of their recovery for children with congenital optical nystagmus”. She is the author of 5 scientific papers and holds one patent. Dr Yakovenko has participated with the reports in numerous Russian and international conferences and meetings.
