Dr. Burenina Elena
Head of the Excimer Eye Centre for Child Care,
In 1982, Dr Burenina graduated from the Leningrad Pediatric Medical University, with a specialization in pediatrics. From 1982 to 1983, she completed her internship in pediatric ophthalmology at Leningrad City Hospital No.19 named after Rauhfus (Leningrad). From 1983 to 1986, she worked as ophthalmologist in Children’s Polyclinic No.63 in Leningrad. From 1986 to 1987, Dr Burenina worked in the trauma section of City Eye Hospital No.7. In 1987, she became the Head of the general admissions unit at Eye Counseling Polyclinic No. 80.
Since 1995, she worked as an ophthalmologist at the Vozvrashenie, Medical Rehabilitation Institute. Since 2004 — Chief Physician of the Excimer Eye Centre for Child Care in St.Petersburg.
Dr Burenina constantly upgrades her professional qualifications and has completed the following advanced medical trainings: "Trauma of the vision organs", "General ophthalmology", "Pediatric ophthalmology", at the St. Peterburg MAPO in 1986, 1994, 2000 respectively; and in 1988, “Onco-ophthalmology” in Moscow ‘TsOLIUV’. Dr Burenina has several research publications: "On the indications and techniques of the intraocular melanoma surgical excision based on long-term outcomes", "The application of the method of functional biomanagement with its feedbacks to correct visual impairment in children with motor disorders", "The effectiveness of treatment for amblyopia, strabismus, nystagmus with the method of functional biocontrol and transcranial micropolarisation", "Therapeutic effects of central and peripheral electric impact”.
