Auto Ref/Kerato/Tonometer TONOREF II (NIDEK)
Auto Ref/Kerato/Tonometer is a multi function diagnostic unit combining an auto refractometer, an auto keratometer and a non-contact tonometer allowing a number of examinations to be performed using just one unit.
The system of 3D automatic positioning and focusing against the patient’s eye and automatic examination starting provides for a quick, accurate and comfortable for the patient check of the following: the eye refractive disorders (myopia, hyperopia, astigmatism), change of the corneal curvature radius, pupils diameter (necessary to determine the area of laser exposure for Excimer-laser correction), interpupillary distance.
Non contact computerized tonometer
The traditional way to measure the intra-ocular pressure was testing the bend of the cornea (after an eye-drop anesthetic application) under the load of a weight piece, placed on the eye surface. This method required the direct contact of the weight piece and the eye, often causing introduction of infection of the patients, since the weight pieces were reusable and difficult to disinfect. Moreover the results were not very correct, the direct contact caused certain corruption of results. This method was used only to measure the relative (tonometric) pressure.
The computerized tonometer used at the Excimer Clinic allows non contact (without touching the eye surface) measurement of the intraocular pressure using a targeted air jet. A patient feels just a light puff of warm air, thus no unpleasant or painful sensations and no infection. This instrument has such features as automatic aiming during focusing and APC (Auto Puff Control) function.
Pediatric Auto Refractometer PlusOptix A09
Pediatric Auto Refractometer PlusOptix A09 is successfully used for refraction testing in children of any age (including infants) and children having nistagmus. This unit can test real-time eye refraction, analyze the corneal reflex (symmetrical or asymmetric), measure both pupil diameters and the distance between them, build up the vision fixation picture.

Auto Optometric Workstation COS-5100 (NIDEK)
The Auto Optometric Workstation is designed to perform the following tests: vision acuity check, type and value of the required correction
A key unit of Auto Optometric Workstation is Smart Refractor RT-5100 used to determine the subjective refraction. It is equipped with a device that can place spherical and cylindrical lenses, prisms and other optical elements in front of the patient’s eyes to determine refraction values and binocular functions. The chart projector is used to represent test charts during diagnostics for the distance vision acuity.
The Refractometer combined with the Auto Ref/Kerato/Tonometer NIDEK Tonoref II makes the Workstation able to perform a full diagnostic cycle to determine both subjective and objective refraction. The units within the Workstation can exchange the obtained information on the patient’s vision condition thus speeding up and increasing quality of the tests.
Echoscan NIDEK US-4000
The Echoscan combining A-B scan, Biometer and ultrasonic Pachymeter is designed to visualize the shape and properties of the eye inner structure, providing graphic data used for diagnostics.
The A-scan provides data on the anterior eye chamber dimensions, the crystalline lens thickness, eye ball and vitreous body sizes. This data is essential for various surgeries. B-scan employing the 2D ultrasound discovers injuries hidden from an ophthalmologist. For instance in case of cataract the crystalline lens loses it’s transparency. And the B-scan is used in this case for the eye inner structure examinations.
The data obtained in the course of diagnostics using such multifunctional equipment is used for the calculation the parameters of the intra-ocular lens (e.g. before a cataract surgery). Corneal thickness is vital to make a decision on an Excimer-laser correction possibility. Echoscan test allows to detect eye structure abnormalities even when the inner structures are not transparent (e.g. in case of cataract, retinal and vitreous body disorders).
Automatic Field Analizer ZEISS HFA-750i
The automatic projector field analyzer software controlled collects data on the field of vision –the space the human eye sees when stationary.
The field of vision can be affected by most neuroreceptory disorders of retina and optic nerve (e.g. in case of glaucoma). The special computer software presents quantitative features of vision at certain parts of the eye which is very important for glaucoma, macular dystrophy and other problems. The field analyzer allows early or timely detection of such disorders and thus their management.
This equipment allows Excimer refractionists to carry out numerous test whatever necessary: threshold, overview, special, precision, static and kinetic tests. Which test is to be used is decided by the doctor for each patient individually.
The automatic Field Analyzer HFA-750i is using two specialized algorithms of the sppedy threshold testing: SITA and SITA Fast. In the course of testing various markers are used: of different size and colour, as well as combination of different colour marker and the background: white on white, red or blue on white, blue on yellow background. The clinic usage demands true vision field results. Patient’s vision fixation is important in this respect. The HFA-750i constantly monitors visual direction. To provide for the dynamic observation of the visual system the unit keeps records for each patient, also a special software provides single or multiple vision field analysis.
Optical Coherence Tomography RTVue-100
The Optical Coherence Tomograhy RTVue has been developed to fully meet the clinical requirements, it creates 2 and 3 dimensional images of retinal optic nerve structure
and provides macula condition information. The RTVue also has a module for the examination of the anterior chamber structures (non contact cornea thickness measurement, measurement and analysis of chamber angle, cornea condition evaluation).
Thanks to high speed examination and higher resolution the coherency tomography increases significantly accuracy of fundus structures appraisal.
The Optical Coherency Tomograhy RTVue-100 is capable of processing the diagnostic ray reflected by the retina using the Fourier-Domain technology, very quickly creating a “live” retina tissue high resolution scan.
The scanning speed of the RTVue unit is over 26000 A-scans in a second (ultra-high examination speed) and it’s resolution is 4 to 5 micro meters (higher resolution capacity).
Such parameters ensure high quality and true images allowing accurate analysis. Thanks to multiple measurements modes the unit provides a lot of possibilities for examination and modeling of the fundus and the anterior chamber structures.
Even with dimmed media, e.g. in case of cataract or corneal opacity the patient’s fundus can be checked with minimal strain of the eye. The Coherence Tomography allows early diagnostics, when no symptoms are present. This allows to start treatment at a very early stage, and this give a best result.
Computerized Corneal Topographer
The Computerized Corneal Topographer is designed to scan the corneal surface, measure it’s topography and refractive power in any spot, al this in just few seconds, creating a tree dimensional image on the screen and a digital parameters report in the computer.
This data is required for myopia, hyperopia and astigmatism Excimer-laser correctio since it is cornea which is subjected to exposure during he procedure. And only the Computerized Corneal Topographer can provide evidence of keratoconus and other corneal disorders in a patient. Moreover the data obtained in the course of such a work-up is used for the artificial lens parameters calculation (for cataract and lensectomy surgeries, the latter used for high degree myopia, hyperopia and astigmatism correction). The Topographer reveals the first signs of keratoconus (the corneal surface shape disorder) and other visual system problems.
Computerized Tonography
Computerized Tonography is used for recording of intraocular pressure fluctuation and speed of production and discharge of aqueous humor. The Computerized Tonography observation is very important for glaucoma patients (those who suffer from aqueous humor circulation disturbance). Eye hydrodynamics monitoring provided by the Computerized Tonographer allows early glaucoma diagnostics.
Fundus Camera NIDEK 3DXF
This unique instrument Fundus Camera 3DXF provides highest accuracy diagnostics of the retinal and whole fundus vascular system condition. This unit also creates quality automatic images (single pictures or video captures).
Electronic Phoropters
The modern projection units have replaced the traditional eye charts, but still show the letters lines we are used to. The regular trial diopter lenses have been replaced by Electronic Phoropters. They check the vision acuity, strabismus degree and other visual problems with highest accuracy possible.
